When my husband and I bought this house we fell in love with almost everything about it. What struck me as odd, though, was that even though there are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the 2nd floor, there was no real linen closet. Our cleaner, who we inherited from the previous residents, said the former owners used a built-in cabinet in the hallway as a linen closet, but I just didn't see how that would be practical. First, it was low to the ground, and any middle aged person knows we try to avoid bending down as much as possible. Second, it didn't seem large enough to hold bedding and towels for all the rooms, as well as backup blankets and linens for extra guests. I have inserted a picture of it below. It is now my wrapping paper station.
One of the other bedrooms had a walk-in closet that I decided to use for our upstairs linen closet. I purchased some elfa drawer frames and the mesh drawers that go with them. It was functional, but not very pretty. I had always planned to clean it up, and the time is now! Stay tuned...
